AL ISLAH GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL PAGE 10 HOMEWORK Homework is considered an important part of the school curriculum and is set regularly for students. Homework consolidates and reinforces skills and understanding beyond that achieved in class during the school day. It also helps students to learn and study independently – main criteria for further education. Students are issued with homework diaries in which all set work is recorded. Subject teachers and form teachers monitor the use of these diaries carefully. Parents are also expected to play an important role in supporting and encouraging their daughters to study at home and check their homework diaries on a regular basis. Reading and research homework will also be given whereby; the student would need to visit a public library. Parents must be prepared to allow their child to spend some time in the library for homework purposes. INTERVENTION LESSONS The school will plan targeted support for particular groups of students who are struggling to meet their target grades in their subjects.
